About
I am an artist based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, working primarily in gouache and watercolour. My work ranges from painterly, impressionistic scenes that capture magical moments to detailed, realistic portraits of plants and animals.
As a child, I could lose myself in drawing and art projects for hours. Like so many people do, I set my creativity aside for many years to pursue other things. Seeing my father’s struggle with Parkinson’s disease, and seeing him lose the dexterity required to write, was a profound turning point for me. I realized then that I couldn't put off my art for another minute.
I returned to drawing in 2015 and began focusing on botanical subjects in 2016. I later earned a Diploma of Botanical Art, graduating with Distinction from the London Art College.
My artistic journey continues to evolve. Today, I also embrace a more spontaneous approach, seeking to capture the freshness and preciousness of a place or person through vibrant, soulful paintings.
